If you are an actor and the director gives you a note, please don't take 20 minutes to explain why you are playing the character the way you are playing it, don't you think the director has a better grasp of what the audience is seeing since he or she is watching from the audience and you(the actor) are on stage?
If you are an actor you should be upset if the director does not give you a note.
If you are a student studying to be an actor, a note is given to you as help to make your character better, not as a personal insult.

If you are an actor and are given a note the correct response is "thank-you"
Mind you these rules only apply to you if you are an actor, they do not apply to the talking, moving props cause that is what most of you are.
